Magnetic Toy Magnet Balls Recall: Swallowing and Choking Risk (October 2026)

A magnetic toy made of 5mm magnet balls has been recalled from end users. The magnets are small and have high magnetic flux. If a child swallows them, they can cause intestinal blockage or perforation. They are also a choking risk. The Netherlands notified the alert.

The product is a set of magnet balls, 5mm, in different colours: silver, blue, green, purple, orange, black, yellow, red and pink. It is sold as a toy and carries the barcode listed below.

What’s the hazard

The toy consists of small magnets with high magnetic flux (measured value up to 246 kg²mm²). If a child swallows them, they could attract one another, causing intestinal blockage or perforation.

The magnets are also small parts. A child can put them in the mouth and choke.

The product does not comply with the requirements of the Toy Safety Directive or with the European standard EN 71-1. The alert rates it as a serious risk.

What to do

The importer is recalling the product from end users, with the measure taken from July 2, 2026.
