Who is responsible
RecallCorner, [email protected]. Use the contact form or email [email protected].
What we collect, and why
- Server logs. Our server and our network provider process your IP address, browser details and the pages you request, to deliver the site and keep it secure. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure site. Server logs are normally deleted within about 14 days.
- Security checks. Our security plugin, Wordfence, uses your IP address and request details to block attacks and failed login attempts, and records blocked requests. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure.
- Your country. The “Go to my country” link uses the country our network provider detects from your connection, once, to choose a page. We do not store it.
- Contact form. Your message and, if you give it, your email address, so we can act on it and reply. We keep these for up to 12 months. To limit abuse we keep a scrambled form of your IP address for one hour; it is not stored with your message.
- API. If you use our API, requests are logged like any other request. If you have an API key, we store a hash of the key and the name it was issued to.
Cookies
We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies at this time. Our network provider, Cloudflare, may set a strictly necessary security cookie. Editors who log in receive login cookies. We use Google Search Console to see how the site appears in search, which does not place anything on your device.
Advertising
We do not show advertising at this time. We may use Google AdSense in the future. Google and its partners may then use cookies to show and measure ads, which can be personalized. Before that starts we will update this policy, and visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland will be asked for consent through a certified consent tool. No advertising scripts will run before that choice.
Who receives data
- Cloudflare, Inc., which delivers the site and protects it from attacks. Data may be processed outside the EEA under the safeguards Cloudflare provides, such as standard contractual clauses.
- DigitalOcean, which hosts our server in Frankfurt, Germany.
- Defiant, Inc., which makes Wordfence. The plugin can share IP addresses of suspected attackers with Defiant to protect sites.
Articles are written by an AI provider from regulators’ data. No visitor data is sent to it. We do not sell personal data.
Your rights
You may ask to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive a copy. Use the contact form or email [email protected]. You may also complain to your data protection authority.
Children
This site is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We will update this page if our practices change, and change the date at the top.
