Sweden has notified an EU Safety Gate alert for the X-tream Dance Pad dance mat. The solders contain excessive lead and cadmium, and the black insulation cord contains excessive DEHP and SCCPs. The alert rates it a serious risk. The online marketplace removed the product listing.

What’s the hazard
The solders have an excessive concentration of lead and cadmium (measured value: 58.7% and 0.20% by weight, respectively). The plastic of the black insulation cord has an excessive concentration of bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) and short chained chlorinated paraffins (SCCPs) (measured values: up to 0.79% and 0.57% by weight, respectively).
